In today’s cyber age, if you have a computer and an email address, you have almost certainly been sent an “e-vite,” which is an invitation via email. They’re a lot of fun and are definitely useful in the computer age, but are not appropriate in every situation. Some tips to help you decide which invitation is right for you, whether electronic or paper, are described in the following.
Casual gatherings or occasions on the spur of the moment are when you might want to use an electronic invitation. Some examples would be Super Bowl parties, splash parties, or a girls’ night out. An e-vite is an ideal choice for those events where people sell jewelry or kitchen items at someone’s home. E-vites make it easy to track the RSVPs for your event. However, there is no hard copy for your guest to refer to, you will have to send a reminder shortly before the event.
To show your guests that an occasion is more formal, send a paper invitation, especially if it is a wedding or anniversary. A printed invitation is a visible reminder of the upcoming event. Scrapbooks carry the remembrances of the occasion when the printed invitations are combined with pictures and other memorabilia.
When you realize that a printed invitation is right for your special occasion, picking out the proper paper is an easy task. You will find a bountiful selection of colorful and stylish printable invitations for any occasion you are celebrating. Normally you can print the invitations on your home printer, eliminating the cost of professional printing while still conveying a professional appearance.
So now you have an idea of when it’s appropriate to send an e-vite and when it is better to send a paper invitation. If it is just for fun, then an e-vite is appropriate. If you want your occasion remembered, it is best to send the paper invitation. Each of these serves its own purpose in our fast paced society.
