Baby Shower Guest Book Ideas

If you are hosting a baby shower, one of the most important things that you should prepare is the guest book. There are many ready-made baby shower guestbooks in bookstores and online shops that you can choose and use for the event. However, if your creative side is kicking in, you can make this simple item into something more memorable for your pregnant girl friend.

Here are some ideas that you may find interesting and fit for the recipient and occasion:

(1) Embellished scrapbook baby shower guest book

If you love scrapping, it will be easier to craft a homemade personalized baby shower guest book. Instead of using a real guest book with line on each page, it would be better to use a medium-sized scrap book where you and your friends can write your messages, paste some memorable photos with the pregnant mom and embellish each dedicated page [one page per guest] with scrap book decor.

(2) Guest book cards

Get a guest book and a couple of blank cards for the baby shower. Paste the envelopes from the cards on the pages of the book, and the blank cards on the table with pens and a large bowl for collection. You can also tell the guests to share some parenting advice for the mom-to-be on the cards or on a separate piece of paper.

You can make this as an activity during the baby shower by providing embellishments, colorful pens, glue and other stuff to accessorize the baby shower guest book.

(3) Framed and signed onesies

Baby onesies are perfect to use for this occasion since they represent the coming of the baby and they are also unique and can be framed. If the gender of the baby is not yet determined, get onesies that have neutral light colors such as green, yellow, beige or white. Make sure you have 2 or 3 of these especially when there are many guests.

Have the guests sign their names with dedication on the onesies and after the party, have them framed before you give it to the parents.

(4) Polaroid baby shower guest book

Just like the embellished scrapbook-style book, you can add photos and accessories to make it unique. Have a Polaroid ready before the guests arrive or before they leave so you can take their pictures. Have the guests write on their names and dedications on the guest book, and also their names on their Polaroid shots so you can identify them when it’s time to paste the photos.

(5) Home-made and signed baby quilt

Have several pieces of fabric, special pens for dedication, thread and needle, or fabric glue and embellishments for the quilt. You don’t have to make the quilt yourself if you don’t know how to. You can commission a local quilter to start-up a few weeks/months before the baby shower party. Ask the quilter to help you how to add the special pieces so you can do the sewing or let the guests sew or glue the signed pieces on their preferred spot on the quilt.

The quilt can either be framed, used as part of the baby’s bedding or as a decorative element in the baby’s room.

The baby shower party guest book is a special remembrance for the mom-to-be and her new baby. A signature, a short message of cheer and/or a photo of each happy guest can brighten the days of the parents as they await the arrival of their little one.
